Friday, November 14 at Mansion Park Stadium was just another night in the District 6 playoffs. The Bishop Guilfoyle Marauder football team went on to win their fifth D6 title in the past seven years. The Marauders’ relentless defensive and offensive game plan paved the way for the team to win yet another title against the Homer-Center Wildcats. The team was led by senior Keegan Mryick. Myrick, who usually lines up at running back, rushed for 4 touchdowns and 139 yards on 26 carries. He caught two passes for 53 yards and a two-point conversion at wide receiver, and also threw for
one 6-yard touchdown pass as quarterback. “He was incredible Friday night. He had to match up against their best wide receiver, and offensively he led us again by rushing, receiving and throwing. You just can’t say enough about how important he is to our team.” Coach Justin Wheeler said. In the first quarter, Myrick rushed for two touchdowns, followed by another two in the second and a two-point conversion on top of that. In the third quarter, he threw a jump pass to tight-end Andrew Yanoshak from the six yard line to finish the game. Myrick was then named the Altoona Mirror Athlete of The Week.
