17 year old Red Gerard, hailing from Silverthorne Colorado, now jokingly renamed Goldthorne, in tribute to Gerard, has brought home a Gold Medal for USA in the 2018 Winter Olympics. He is the youngest snowboarder in US history to win Gold, the Gold Medal was won in the Slopestyle Snowbaording. After 2 disastrous runs were he failed get into the top ten. Gerard rallied spectatcurlay during his third, ending it with a flawless 1440 rotation to boost himself from 11th to 1st place and the Gold medal position. The final rider, who was the favorite, failed to boost himslf past Gerard and helped secure Reds victory. We hear at the Marauder Mirrior would like to congratulate Red Gerard is his victory and we would also like to offer our support to all the other US Olympians.
