The Marauder Mirror ‘Athlete of the Week’ honors one Marauder/Lady Marauder who excelled at his or her respective sport during a week-long time period. The Marauder Mirror is proud to present the ‘Athlete of the Week’ for 1/5 – 1/10:

Name: Josh Trybus

Grade: Sophomore

Sport: Basketball

Position: Point Guard

Reason for Nomination: Josh has posted large numbers for the Marauders to commence their delayed season this winter, starting with 17 points scored in the 45-40 opener against Bedford. This past Wednesday, Josh led the team with 12 points scored in their come from behind rally to defeat Bellwood-Antis 63-60.

Coach Chris Drenning’s Quote: “Josh has come in as a sophomore and played important minutes for us early in the season. He is an excellent shooter and does a good job playing both guard positions for us. We look forward to seeing his continued improvement and development, not only this season, but throughout the next two years.”

How long have you been playing this sport? Started in 2nd grade at Saint Rose.

What other sport(s) do you play? Football, baseball, and indoor soccer.

Favorite professional sports team? Philadelphia Eagles

Biggest role model(s): My parents

Favorite teacher: Mr. Cooper

Favorite subject: Math

Proudest athletic achievement: Winning the state championship in football.

What do you enjoy most about your team? We play well together and they’re funny.

Future goals: Win another state championship, go to college, and be successful.
